SUMMER SCHOOL OF ADDICTION STUDIES
The Rutgers Center of Alcohol Studies is nationally and regionally recognized as a leader in innovative addiction-related education. The Summer School of Addiction Studies (SSAS) has provided continuing education to thousands of professionals in a broad range of addiction and behavioral health fields. This year, SSAS will focus on Creating Change through Connection: Working with Multicultural Populations. Courses will provide indepth educational and experiential content on trauma-informed treatment approaches, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, family therapy, motivational interviewing, treatment considerations for the criminal justice system and current drug trends, and holistic treatment strategies to promote wellness
Who Should Attend?
We train licensed service providers, supervisors, clinicians, students, prevention specialists, and educators. We welcome individuals from alcohol and drug treatment facilities, community based organizations, health centers, clinics, hospitals, medical schools, educational settings, law enforcement, and the armed forces to all of our events.
