Helene Raskin White Honored at Rutgers v Kansas Football Game

TODAY’S FACULTY RECOGNITIONS ARE BROUGHT TO YOU BY GEICO. JOINING US TODAY ARE TWO OF RUTGERS’ MOST DISTINGUISHED FACULTY.

DR. STEPHEN BURLEY IS A DISTINGUISHED PROFESSOR OF CHEMISTRY AND CHEMICAL BIOLOGY AND A MEMBER OF THE CANCER INSTITUTE OF NEW JERSEY. AN INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED PHYSICIAN AND SCIENTIST, DR. BURLEY IS A STRUCTURAL BIOLOGIST WHOSE RESEARCH INCLUDES STRUCTURE/FRAGMENT BASED DRUG DISCOVERY, AND CLINICAL MEDICINE/ONCOLOGY. DR. BURLEY HAS AUTHORED NUMEROUS SCHOLARLY SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES AND IS A FELLOW OF THE ROYAL SOCIETY OF CANADA AND OF THE NEW YORK ACADEMY OF SCIENCES.

DR. HELENE RASKIN WHITE IS A DISTINGUISHED PROFESSOR OF SOCIOLOGY AND MEMBER OF THE CENTER OF ALCOHOL STUDIES. SHE IS ENGAGED IN LONGITUDINAL RESEARCH ON THE ANTECEDENTS, CONSEQUENCES AND COMORBIDITY OF SUBSTANCE USE AND OTHER PROBLEM BEHAVIORS IN BOTH COMMUNITY AND HIGH-RISK SAMPLES. SHE ALSO DEVELOPS AND EVALUATES SUBSTANCE USE PREVENTION PROGRAMS FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS. DR. WHITE HAS WON A TOP CITED AWARD FROM THE INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL ON DRUG POLICY AND A NJ WOMEN OF ACHIEVEMENT AWARD.
